Summer may be ending and school may be starting but it does not mean that you have to stop being active and taking part in local recreational activities. The weather is still nice enough to enjoy all the parks in the area. It is the perfect time to take advantage of the walking trails the region and the rest of PA has to offer. For the kids, there are several different youth sports this fall and coming up in the winter that children can participate in. Remember to check out the Lititz recCenter for their new programs, opportunities and leagues this fall and winter. With the weather getting cooler, that just means that we take the recreation inside. There will be both adult and youth leagues at the rec this winter. The new expansion at the recCenter offers some new classes, gym space as well as FunZone, a great place for kids to be active and have fun with friends. Pickleball is a growing sport and very popular. As we mentioned before there are going to be new outdoor courts placed at Rothsville Lion’s Park. But playing indoor is very popular at the Lititz recCenter. Haven’t heard of pickleball and not sure how to play? Not a problem this fall there will be classes offered as well as private lessons! It is time to grow and share the love of the sport with our community. Remember to check and back for more announcements about the WERT rail-trail system, recreation opportunities and our “Check out that Park” segment.
